Especially in extreme cold and hot weather, when it is impossible to stay outdoors, our homes are here to keep us comfy and cozy or cold, as needed. And this is possible only because of the HVAC system installed at your homes.
Let’s learn a little about HVACs which are installed in almost every building you visit in Denver and constitute a big time in our comfort. This information will help you in knowing the on-going operations at your place.
What’s In Your HVAC System?
We will see what’s inside our HVAC system and how it works to give us such an oh-so-perfect temperature we long for.
Furnace
The furnace makes most of the HVAC system. It occupies the most space in the HVAC system. It is a highly important and primary component of the system. The furnace is responsible for moving air from the heat exchanger into the air ducts. The furnace is often kept in the basements.
Heat Exchanger
The heat exchanger works to add heat in the incoming air from the combustion chamber. The heat exchanger is not the part of the furnace even though it is placed inside the furnace. It has its own separate functionalities.
Evaporator Coil
The evaporator coil is also placed inside the furnace, but it also has its own separate duties. The refrigerant is supposed to run in the evaporator coil. The coil then absorbs the heat passing over it and blows cold air through the air ducts.
Condensing Unit
The condensing unit is similar to the evaporator coil, but it is usable for the outdoor HVAC units. It exchanges heat with air that is passing over it. However, unlike the evaporator coil, the function of the condensing unit is to give heat.
Refrigerant Tubes
These tubes are responsible for connecting the condensing coil with the evaporator coil. It makes refrigerants play the role of the connector of the outdoor HVAC system with the indoor HVAC system.
The Thermostat
This is the most familiar component of the HVAC system. You have direct contact with the thermostat as it helps you set the temperature of your cooling and heating system just as you want. This is often a small appliance installed on the wall.
Vents
The air enters the room through vents.
Ductwork
Air ducts make the cool or warm air move throughout your building. There are ductworks that enter the air inside the HVAC system and there are other ducts that exit the air from it.
Heat Pump
The heat pump has a role in every weather. When it is cold, it takes the heat away from the building while when it is cold, it does the opposite of it.
This little information will go a long way in assisting you if you ever need HVAC repair or installation in Denver.
