Warriors fans, our moment of liberation is here. Kevin Durant has arrived. It's OK to say the Golden State is his team now.

Durant is playing the best basketball of his career and he's doing it for the Warriors cause. He carried the team against the Clippers and now he's locked in a win in the first game of the Houston series.

That's something to celebrate. To savor.

KD is no longer the "break glass in case of emergency" page in the Warriors' playbook. He is the tip of the spear. The strongest of the strength in numbers crowd. I hope he scores 30+ in every game for the rest of the playoffs. And rebounds. And adds double digit assists.

And helps to elevate the entire team for the remaining 11 wins needed to secure the 2019 championship.

It makes a difference whether or not the Warriors hang another banner when they open their new arena next year.

And maybe KD will be there to help mount the next campaign. And maybe not. But right now, we know who he is and that's what matters.
