Sometimes companies take the millions they spend on marketing and use it to create something genuinely cool and engaging. Those creations are called experiential marketing campaigns, and here are three fine examples of them in action.
1 - The sky’s the limit
The only thing cooler than seeing a man jump out of a capsule at a height of 128 thousand feet is realizing that he is doing that crazy feat in order to promote an energy drink. In that case, Red Bull. Thanks to Red Bull, Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner fell for 4 solid minutes while the whole internet watched the event live.
2 - 29 art events in one
Lifestyle brand Refinery29 hosted an event called 29Rooms, where visionaries, nonprofits, and different brands came together to create 29 different rooms, each containing a unique experience for customers to engage with. The whole setup was designed to be a cool and unique experience that customers will remember for the rest of their lives.
3 - Take the stairs
Picture going into the subway during your morning commute just to find that the staircase has been turned into a piano. That’s exactly what Volkswagen did; they turned each step of a subway’s staircase into a musical key overnight. The result was a 66% increase in people taking the stairs and plenty of smiling commuters.
